Aga Khan Foundation has operated in India since 1978, acting as a catalyst for rural development by supporting resource-poor communities to improve their livelihoods. It implements integrated, gender-sensitive programmes across Bihar, Delhi, Maharashtra, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh, working alongside other Aga Khan Development Network agencies. Its programming spans early childhood development, safe drinking water and sanitation, nutrition and strengthening community institutions, with field learnings feeding into broader policy engagement.
