ALERT-INDIA has worked for over four decades on leprosy, running its Leprosy Elimination Action Programme with early case detection, treatment, leprosy referral centres embedded in the public health system, disability prevention and rehabilitation, and awareness work to counter stigma. It also runs tuberculosis control, HIV/AIDS prevention and care, and community health and family development programmes across Maharashtra, Gujarat and Jharkhand.
