All India Deaf and Dumb Society was founded in 1956 by freedom fighter and former MP Smt. Subhadra Joshi for the welfare of the hearing-impaired. It runs the Premalabai Chavan School for the Deaf in East Delhi, established in 1972 and recognised by the Delhi Directorate of Education, offering education from nursery to class 8 alongside speech therapy and vocational training. The organisation began with vocational tailoring classes before expanding into formal schooling and broader rehabilitation services for deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
