Danirasa Foundation is a Chennai-based NGO that grew out of relief work during the 2015 Chennai floods into an ongoing meal programme for children from low-income homes and elderly residents of old-age homes. Meals are cooked at the Danirasa community kitchen in Thiruninravur, which is staffed entirely by women, giving them a stable source of income while feeding the community. The foundation also runs a women's empowerment arm offering tailoring classes and skill-based training to help participants become self-sufficient.
