The Hindu Women's Welfare Society runs Shraddhanand Mahilashram in Matunga, Mumbai, which cares for girls and women across several linked programmes. Its Special Care Centre looks after children with fragile health, including those later placed for adoption, while its Mahila section shelters and trains women aged 20 to 60 in skills that support economic independence. It also runs a working women's hostel in Kurla and shelters elderly women with no one to care for them at Vasai.
